Limnephilus lunatus

This sample was collected on a warm day the 19th of October, there were several of these sedges in the air. The L.lunatus hatches from spring to late November.







The species name come from the latin luna (=moon), for the typical 'half-moon' pattern at end of the fore wings.

The 3 Ocelli, typical of the family, are visible: the dark point between the antennae and the two between the eyes.
