Isoperla rivulorum

Larva

  -    . . .

  - Order Plecoptera
  - Family Perlodidae
  - Genus Isoperla
  - Species rivulorum

I photograped this specimen on an alpine free-stone stream at about 900 m. above sea level.

There were lots of small dark stoneflies hatching that day, but of other species. This one was not mature yet and crawling on a pebble in a pocket after a run.

The Isoperla rivulorum is widely spread in central and southern Europe. Its typical habitat is at 800 m. above sea level and higher.

Ventral view.

The adults fly from June till September.
