Premised that there is no scientific statistic behind my statements here, I was wondering if anyone has ever thought about this topic. Is there a specific streamer's size that is more effective overall, in general and for most of species? I am not talking about any specific fish size, just from the smallest (starting from 35 cm.) up to the largest. Neither considering any specific fish species, from trout to pike, all the spectrum of the average fly fishing targets. Reckoning of my past year catches, from the largest to the middle size fish I caught, I came to the conclusion the perfect universal size for a streamer searching pattern is 9,5 cm.
