Torleya major

Larva

  -    . . .

  - Order Ephemeroptera
  - Family Ephemerellidae
  - Genus Torleya
  - Species major

The T.mayor prefers the trout and grayling parts of streams and brooks.

The larvae are between 7 and 9 mm. long and they can be found already in winter.

The hatching period is between April and May.

Larvae thrive in places with moderate current and stony bottoms. All the larvae that I collected were covered with debris, likely used as camouflage.
